    A reading of the story of "Clarence, the Cranberry that Couldn't Bounce," by author Jim Coogan is a featured children's event at the seventh annual Falmouth Cranberry Harvest and Farm Festival on Saturday, Oct. 16. The festival celebrating Cape Cod's heritage as the birthplace of cranberry farming is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can watch a wet harvest of of the 120-year-old, town-owned bogs along John Parker Road in East Falmouth. They can buy fresh-baked cranberry treats and related craft items, examine displays of old scoops, tools, and historic photographs, build a miniature bog in a cup, take a walking tour of the bogs, or lean back and enjoy the musical entertainment. The Portuguese-American Cub offers lunch, and a variety of local berries, organic and standard; fresh and dried, are for sale. Rain date: Sunday.
