    Historic Cemetery Walks
Starting at the Meeting House, Bonnie leads groups through the Orleans Cemetery Association, whose graves date back as far as the 1800s.
For example, you will walk to the grave of John Doane, who started the first private high school, called Rock Harbor Academy / Orleans Academy. The school was attended by all local men who wanted to become first mates or sea captains in maritime trade, as well as women who wanted to become teachers. Other Orleans residents became famous during their lives making an impact with important projects around the country.
