    Cotuit Center for the Arts presents its Fourth Annual Americana Hootenanny on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 5:30 to 10 PM. The old-fashioned blues, brews, and barbecue throwdown will feature three New England American roots music groups: Hoot & Holler, Brother Brother, and the headliner Cold Chocolate. The event begins at 5:30 PM with a barbecue picnic and "pickin' party" that continues until 7 pm, catered by Simply Divine Catering & More. Traditional barbecue fare and vegetarian options will be available for purchase at $15 a plate. Special admission price for anyone who brings a stringed instrument. Mark Kilianski will lead a good old fashioned outdoor pickin party during the barbecue portion of the event. The Pickin Party is an inclusive jam session. Vocalists and instrumentalists familiar with any genres within the broad umbrella of American Folk will feel comfortable. This would include Bluegrass, Old Time, Traditional Folk, Folk Revival, Contemporary Folk, etc. After the leaders pick a few, then others will be encouraged to choose songs or fiddle tunes to jam on. Admission for those who participate is only $5. And if you participate in the jam session you may attend the indoor theater concerts for only $10 more. Tickets: $28, $25 seniors/veterans, $23 members/ $5 pickin' party participants, $15 including indoor concerts
