Description:
Wellfleet playwright Candace Perry and director Bob Costa are returning to Wellfleet Preservation Hall with a new collection of Candaces short plays. Last year her collection, Struggles, and Other Love Stories, played to sold out audiences at the Hall. This years collection of six short plays, Call Home the Heart, will be performed together for the first time on Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23 at 7:30 pm, and on Sunday, September 24 at 2:00 pm. Candace embraces the challenge of using the short form to tell a big story and likes to use humor when tackling some tough topics. The selected plays for Call Home the Heart take on issues of betrayal, family, war, generations, prejudice and love!
Candace has had more than thirty of her short plays produced in the US, and this year her work was performed in Ireland at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival. Her short plays have been selected for the Provincetown Theaters Playwrights Festivals, the Boston Theater Marathon, New Bedford Culture*Park Marathon, the New Orleans Tennessee Williams Literary Festival, Houstons Southwest Theater Festival, Heartland Theatres Ten Minute Play Festival, and the Provincetown Womens International Theater Festival. In addition to her short work, Candace has written four full length plays, the most recent, Along the River Road, which was commissioned by the Four Squared Theater Project.
