Stone carver Dave Campbell and glass artist Michael Magyar, both from Sandwich, came together every week for 1 year to create 12 sculptures. It all started out as an idea to create a series of pieces using each others ideas and materials. They had worked together on some smaller projects over a period of 4 or so years, when they decided to focus on a series of work designed by both artists. Working together in each others studio opened many ideas and gave each artist a renewed appreciation for the others material. They found it much more challenging than just making ones own piece. Each artist had to keep an open mind and remain flexible to the others thoughts and ideas. What came out of this is an outstanding body of work, something that each artist could not have made alone. Opening reception September 18 from 5 to 7pm; Gallery Talk: October 20 at 10am. Show runs through Octiber 30.
