JoAnna Watson, ABWAs Scholarship Chair said: This years pool of applicants was very impressive and these four women demonstrated outstanding qualifications for these scholarships. This years scholarship recipients are: Elizabeth Slevin of Yarmouthport, Graduate student at Lesley University studying Special Education Carrie Legeyt of Centerville, a junior at Wheelock College studying Human Development and Child Life Krystin St. Onge of E. Falmouth, a junior at Curry College studying Psychology and Sociology Brittany Bohannon of N. Eastham, a junior studying physical therapy at Northeastern University. Outgoing ABWA President Denise Dever of Forestdale said: We were able to add an additional scholarship because of some very successful fundraising efforts this year. Our members are truly committed to helping women in the community and really worked hard this year to sell the laptop raffle tickets, participate in the clothing drive, and support our monthly meeting raffles and golf outing. We were also the recipient of an extremely generous gift from Geek Girl Camp from one of our members, the founder of Geek Girls. All of this combined allowed us to give an additional scholarship. I am thankful for all our members for their efforts. Other ABWA members of the Scholarship committee who poured over numerous scholarship applications were: Beth Russell of Sandwich, Wendy Mullin and Aurora Rodrigo of Centerville and Pauline Greenberg of Mashpee. Providing scholarships in support of women is a major part of the mission of the American Business Womens Association. Funds are raised during the monthly business meetings and through various activities during the year such as through a clothing trailer at Macys throughout the year. All clothing, shoes and linens are accepted. About the American Business Womens Association ABWAs Mission is to bring together business women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition. At ABWA new members are always accepted and welcomed. For more information about the ABWA, contact Chapter President Denise Dever at dmdever@capecod.com, write to ABWA, P.O.
