Description:
Relive summers at one of Cape Cods most famous restaurants in a talk on Monday, August 12, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Pilgrim Congregational Church, Monbleau Hall, 533 Route 28 in Harwich Port.
Formers owners and employees will share the history, memories and memorabilia of Thompsons Clam Bar, the largest seasonal restaurant east of the Mississippi. The popular Harwich Port institution operated from 1950 until around 1990, serving as many as 2,000 seafood dinners a night. No vacation to the Cape was complete without a meal at the famous eatery, close by the Wychmere Harbor channel.
The community is invited to bring mementoes and memories to share at this program, which is sponsored by the Harwich Historical Society. Refreshments are included. A suggested donation of $5 is requested.
