Description:
Guitar Night at Wellfleet Preservation Hall: An intimate evening of solo instrumental guitar with Peter Ciluzzi.( With a distinctive, timeless sound that is both familiar and unexpected, Peter Ciluzzi's music defies easy categorization and reflects a wide range of influences including jazz, rock, bluegrass, classical, and world music.
Raised in Provincetown, Ciluzzi developed an appreciation of the arts at a young age and took up guitar when he was a child. Mainly a self-taught musician, he has studied jazz and improvisation as well as classical composition and has released 2 albums of original solo guitar music on Candyrat Records - which represents more than 30 musicians from 10 countries and what is widely regarded as some of the finest guitar-based music from around the world. His performance videos have accumulated millions of views on Youtube and in the last year he had over 4 million plays on Spotify. A finalist in the 2007 Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar Competition, he has toured and performed throughout the US and shared the stage with fellow guitarists such as Antoine Dufour (Canada), Pino Forastiere (Italy), and Gareth Pearson (Wales).
The broad nature of his musical interests also extends into guitar design and construction; having studied guitarmaking with Charles Fox at The American School of Lutherie in Portland, OR, he started Ciluzzi Guitars in a Provincetown workshop in 2006 and has displayed at a number of exhibitions including the Montreal Guitar Show.((
