    TUESDAY EVENINGS AT SALT POND presents The Coast Guard's Most Daring Rescue "On February 18, 1952 a ferocious nor'easter split in half a 500-foot oil tanker, the Pendleton, off the coast of Cape Cod. Author Michael Tougias will give a slide presentation on his book The Finest Hours: The True Story of the U.S. Coast Guard's Most Daring Sea Rescue, now the basis of a Disney movie. He will focus on four young Coast Guardsmen who had to overcome insurmountable odds to save the lives of 32 stranded Pendleton crewmen. Copies of the book are available for purchase at the Salt Pond bookstore and the author will be signing copies prior to the program." This is a ticketed event.
