    Presentation with author and historian Carol Cohen at the Sandwich Public Library on Wednesday, July 8 at 6:30pm In celebration of Americas 250th anniversary, the Sandwich Public Library will welcome author and historian Carol Cohen for an interactive presentation Abigail Adams and the Revolutionary Women, Wednesday, July 8 at 6:30pm. Participants will learn about Adams life in Boston during the years leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This free program is open to the public, but advanced registration is requested through the Librarys online Event Calendar. During this engaging living-history performance, audience members will become part of the story as Abigail Adams invites a group of women to Plymouth for a Spinning Bee at the home of James and Mercy Warren. Through storytelling and historical interpretation, Abigail will introduce several remarkable women who played important roles in Americas fight for independence, including historian and author Mercy Otis Warren, poet Phillis Wheatley, and patriot Deborah Sampson.
Following the performance, Cohen will present an informative PowerPoint program highlighting members of the Daughters of Liberty and the significant contributions these women made to the cause of American independence. Cohen is a lifelong educator and published historian. She served on the faculty of Lesley Universitys Graduate School of Education for 20 years, teaching Social Studies Methods, Literacy and Practicum Seminar courses.
