Description:
Begin your visit by setting out your blankets or chairs on a spot on the lawn to enjoy interactive family entertainment on the Outdoor Concert Stage for six Fridays in a row. These hour-long performances have something to please everyone in the family, including puppet shows, dancing, comedy, storytelling, music and, in most cases, a mix of everything! After the performance, head over to the Parade Field to complete a craft or garden project. These hands-on projects allow your family to bring something special home to remember your visit to Heritage. While youre there, get a temporary tattoo and play with giant games! Dont forget to pick up a Family Treasure Hunt Passport at the Ticket Office, where you will be guided to a different museum treasure each Friday and, after discovering this treasure, receive a stamp in your passport. Summer Family Fun Fridays are FREE with museum admission, registration is not required, and in case of inclement weather, all performances and activities will move indoors.

Friday, July 30 Performer: Cape Cod African Dance and Drum 11am 12pm on the Outdoor Concert Stage The Cape Cod African Dance and Drum Ensemble is a vibrant collective of dancers and drummers who practice and perform traditional West African dance and drumming on Cape Cod. Their troupe of over a dozen performers includes professional West African as well as American artists with a rich variety of dance and music backgrounds. Their performances are full of electricity and fun as they dance and play for the palpable joy inherent in the African tradition. The audience can join in on the drumming and dancing, and the whole family can take something very special home with them: lively African rhythm!

Project: Natural Instruments 12 1:30pm at the Parade Field Instruments have been made for hundreds of years out of natural materials, and now its time for you to try your hand at this tradition to make and take home an instrument of your own. Then get a rockin tattoo, play giant games, get your face painted and find the mystery museum object. Passport Mystery Hint: Listen to the beat.
