    A Fun Family Day - "Children at the Farm" at Jericho Historic Center
The 1801 Theophilus Baker House and Barn at Jericho Historic Center presents a special afternoon of frolicking family fun at its second annual Children on the Farm event Saturday, July 28, from 1-4pm.
Kids of all ages will have the chance to travel back to the 19th century and participate in old-time games like hoop runs, relay races, potato races, and bean bag tosses. Children and their parents can also experience hands-on activities such as cleaning clothes using a washboard and washtub, creating lavender sachets, planting beans in cups (and taking them home for replanting), and going on intriguing scavenger hunts.
Visitors will also marvel at the ongoing barn exhibitsincluding a recreated general store, a treasure trove of intriguing 19th century tools, an examination of early salt-works, and an overview of Cape Cod cranberry cultivationand have the chance to explore the homestead of Captain Baker, one of Denniss most prominent citizens in the early 1800s.
