7th Annual Vineyard Streetball Classic 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

Description:
The seventh annual Vineyard Streetball Classic, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, is slated for Saturday, July 4, 2009, at Niantic Park in Oak Bluffs, Marthas Vineyard. Opening rounds begin at 10 a.m. The staff of the Vineyard Streetball Classic tournament will be at Niantic Park July 1st July 3rd from 10am-12noon for preregistration. The first 200 students to register will be entered into a raffle for a new Wii game system and Ipod Touch. Students from age 10 to 18 will showcase their athletic talents in an environment of positive recreational competition. Each team of three to five players battles through a series of double-elimination rounds with the top teams in each division receiving trophies at the end of the day. All players will be rewarded for their efforts with a Vineyard Streetball Classic tee shirt and complimentary meals and drinks. Students from age 10 to 18 are invited to play in the tournament. The first 200 students to register for the tournament (player or volunteers) will be entered into a grand prize drawing to win a Nintendo Wii game system bundle and Ipod Touch. The drawing will be held at the end of the tournament. During the tournament 10 students will win a tournament basketball. The drawings will be held several times during the day. Players and volunteers may also win trophies by participating in the half-court and free throw competitions. The school with the most student participation at the tournament (playing or volunteering) will win a school spirit tournament trophy and ten new Spalding basketballs for their school P.E. department.
