Description:
AARP fights on issues that matter to you and your family. Join AARP for a conversation about the future of Medicare and Social Security. Get the facts about current options on the table to change the programs for current retirees, veterans, and future generations like the Chained CPI. Also, she will discuss other key legislative issues at the state and federal level. This is an opportunity to share your thoughts about how to get involved. Linda Fitzgerald was appointed Massachusetts State President in March 2009, after serving on the Executive Council and as a Congressional Key Contact. She has been involved with AARP for about 30 years in a variety of volunteer capacities. Linda recently retired after a lengthy career as an advocate, advisor and educator to elders and the wider community. In the private sector, she managed education and outreach for senior markets at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. In state government, she worked at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs as the program and training coordinator for the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program.
