Description:
The 10th Annual Cape Cod Quahog Day will take place on Thursday, June 21st, 2018 at The Pilot House Restaurant at the Sandwich Marina on the beautiful Cape Cod Canal. Quahog Day, a true rite of passage into summer for Cape Cod residents and visitors alike, is the Capes quirky version of Groundhog Day as Doug, the regions beloved Quahog, kicks off the busy summer season with his official prediction of how many beach days we can look forward to in Summer 2018!
Join us at 2:00pm on the first day of summer as Doug delivers his prognostication to his human sidekick, Captain Johnny Quahog of the Quahog Republic. Watch for Dougs arrival in grand style, escorted by his no-nonsense Security Detail, a team of black-suited men and women donning dark sunglasses and earpieces, and armed with clamming rakes.
This years milestone event will offer double the Doug and double the excitement with Cape Cod native and WCVB-TV Boston anchor and reporter Doug Meehan hosting the event, working alongside Doug the Quahog to share his highly anticipated beach weather prediction!
Quahog Day is free to the public for people of all ages and includes plenty of laughs and fun photo opportunities. After Dougs prognostication, patrons are encouraged to stay to enjoy small bites, music and cash bar on the Pilot Houses outdoor lawn. Limited edition Quahog Day tees, provided by Cape Cod Textile, will be available for purchase at the event.
