Description:
Friday, June 25th 5pm to 7pm TRURO FINE ART STUDIO is pleased to announce the opening of TWEET!, a summer celebration featuring bird and botanical art: etchings, encaustics, and sketches of birds by artists Karen Kemp, Chris Jagmin, and introducing the work of Rachel Ellis Kaufman (0000-2001). Also shown will be one-of-a-kind ceramics by Susan Kurtzman, and birdhouses made from scavenged materials constructed by Roxann Howe. The show celebrates the aviary creatures, who have long inspired us with their beauty of flight and color, nesting, and the simplicity of the lives they carry on outside our windows. The works displayed capture the imagination and portray the artists appreciation of the bird from different points of view. We very excited to be the first to show the work of Rachel Ellis Kaufman, mother of artist Heather Blume. TWEET! will include Rahcels woodcuts, which havent been viewed in many years. Were looking forward to showcasing these new artists, especially Rachel Ellis Kaufman who is renowned for the breadth of her work. She wasnt afraid to explore a variety mediumoil, sketches, wood block, and scratch board among them, says Susan Kurtzman. Her work is in the permanent collection in the Cape Cod Museum of Art. Were thrilled to be able to show this work.
