The American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter, will hold a babysitting class on Nantucket on June 12th, 2010. The class will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Nantucket Community School, 10 Surfside Road, Nantucket. Cost is $60. Registration is possible through the Community School by calling 508-228-7280.
The course is designed for 6th to 9th grades, ages 11 to 15, interested in becoming a responsible Babysitter. The participants will learn Babysitting responsibilities, characteristics of children, supervising and playing with children, basic care such as feeding and changing, accident prevention, emergency action and First Aid.
All participants will receive a reference handbook and a portfolio first aid kit. Successful participants will receive a Babysitter's Course completion certificate that does not expire. Please bring a brown bag lunch.
