Description:
The New England Society for Abandoned Animals (NESAA) is looking for volunteers to support its programs and activities for its no-kill Shelter and Education Center in Centerville. The shelter typically has about 100- 200 cats and kittens in its care.
Currently, NESAA is looking for a Community Outreach Volunteer. This can be a great position for someone who is a retired, but who has experience in managing small events, typically at small venues, aimed at educating the public. The volunteer would set up NESAA tables at Cape Cod events (to include PetSmart adoption days) and showcase brochures, sell t-shirts, collect donations and bring a cat or kitten in a crate for adoption purposes. This also includes recruiting other volunteers to help man the table.
The volunteer must be outgoing, customer service oriented and flexible, sensitive and diplomatic. Organization and planning skills are essential as are commitment to set times and schedules. NESAA will provide training in telling the NESAA story and taking the right information for each event. Events take range from one to a few hours and teams are encouraged.
To become a volunteer, go online to www.nesaa.org to download a volunteer application and fax it to (508) 771-7801 or call (508) 771-7800. We strongly recommend sending an email to deb@nesaa.org.
