The Bart Weisman Group and New Yorks String of Pearls, in Concert

Description:
    Alan Clinger (guitar), Laird Boles (bass), and Bart Weisman, the Capes favorite drummer, will accompany New Yorks String of Pearls, a female vocal trio that performs modern vocal jazz and vintage "girl group" music with swing, style, and musical excellence. Pearls Susan Halloran, Jeanne O'Connor, and Holli Ross have performed at the renowned Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. as part of its "Women in Jazz Festival," the New York's annual Cabaret convention, the Mohonk Jazz Festival, the Millbrook Jazz Festival, and the famous "Lyrics and Lyricists" program at Manhattan's 92nd st Y Cultural Center. They bring a fresh sound and a new face to vocal harmony music from the 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond. The trio breathes new life into the great music of groups like the Boswell Sisters, Andrews Sisters, Mills Brothers, Count Basie, and Lambert, Hendricks, & Ross. Meanwhile, String of Pearls performs a wide variety of original arrangements that draw on the traditions of bebop, Brazilian music, and American pop. Call for reservations.
