Description:
If you've been thinking about spending some quality time with your best buddy, Saturday might be a good day for both of you. The Animal Rescue League's Paws in the Park festival will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Drummer Boy Park in Brewster, with a wide range of activities planned for dog owners and the canines in their lives.
This signature annual event for the league is, according to a press release, one of the largest dog-friendly pet festivals on the Cape. It will feature both family- and dog-centric activities, along with entertainment and vendors.
The league is expecting more than 1,000 attendees and their pooches at this year's celebration. Some of the highlights will include a Frisbee dog show, a police K-9 unit demonstration, a caricature artist specializing in people and their dogs, Pup Casso art activities with masterpieces created by your furry little artist, and a doggie photo kissing booth. There will also be a DJ, contests, raffles and many other games, activities, giveaways and shopping.
Attendees can also climb aboard the league's mobile Spay Waggin', try on rescue-team ice suits, and get an up-close look at a mock cat-in-tree rescue. A variety of food will also be available for purchase. Cool 102's Joe Rossetti and WCOD's Stephanie Viva will emcee the festivities. All proceeds from the event benefit the league's adoption center in Brewster.
