Description:
Expo highlights all types of healthy activities
Ultra-runner Carl Gustafson says he has been to, and not enjoyed, multiple expos in the past because they focused on people selling stuff. With the first-ever Cape Cod Expo, director Gustafson wants to provide attendees with hands-on experiences of any kind of activity you would think of in an expo unlike any other.
Organized by the Falmouth Track Club, the free family event Saturday afternoon at Ballymeade Country Club will include: a variety of indoor and outdoor wellness activities - with sessions running in 20 to 30-minute cycles; "Taste of Wellness! samplings from local restaurants, with food items for sale; and booths with local and national businesses offering goods and services - from composting to chiropractic care and massage - for healthy and active living.
Theres even a NASA astronaut: Sunita L. Williams, who has been part of seven space missions, will be the expos special guest and lead the childrens activities.
Admission: Free (though donations are appreciated) to the expo. For the pasta dinner that follows: in advance, $10, $5 for ages 12 and under; at the door, $12 and $7
