Description:
Apr 10 2-3 p.m.  RSVP-Free   Chip Bishop, Cape Cod communications consultant, has written a new book which Kirkus Reviews calls an engaging tour of the busy intersection where history, politics, journalism and power converge.   My goal was to draw a rich portrait of the exceptional lives of two great men, says Bishop, a Mashpee resident. More than that, the book emerges as a remarkable tale of power, politics and presidential courage. The themes are woven through the little-known but very important friendship of President Theodore Roosevelt and his great-grand uncle, newspaper editor Joseph Bucklin Bishop, the presidents authorized biographer. Its Chip Bishops first book, researched and written over three years and based on 600 rarely-seen letters that Roosevelt and Joseph Bucklin Bishop exchanged. Roosevelt was president from the time of William McKinleys death by assassination in September 1901 through March 1909.
