Description:
New England Society for Abandoned Animals Looking for Foster Care Volunteers (Foster Parents)

The New England Society for Abandoned Animals (NESAA) is looking for volunteers to support NESAA programs and activities in their own home as Foster Parents.

NESAAs foster care program is a life-saving extension to all NESAAs programs. Foster caregivers provide daily care to the foster pet in their own home as well as unconditional love and a safe, nurturing environment until the pet is ready for adoption.

Animals that need foster care include: nursing moms and kittens, kittens without a mom, and animals requiring socialization or recovery from illness or injury. Foster care volunteers must be able to provide daily care, including food, water, grooming, a clean litter box and environment, and at times medication. Foster pets need to be isolated from other animals in the home and must be kept indoors always. In return, NESAA provides all the food, supplies and medical care needed for the foster pet. Please discuss with your family to ensure fostering is right for you. Fosters must be at least 18 years old. If you are interested in fostering, please contact NESAA at 508-771-7800 to complete a Foster Care Application. Fostering is a personal and rewarding way to contribute to saving lives. Open your heart and home to a pet in need!

The New England Society for Abandoned Animals is a charitable 501 (c) (3) organization, registered with the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, with the following mission: To advocate, protect and rescue, abandoned and abused animals using a proactive, humane approach. We are committed to our "no kill" programs, increasing community awareness and creating progressive changes in animal welfare. Typically, NESAA has some 50 to 100 animals in their care at any one point in time. In the past few years, NESAA has supported more than 5,000 animals. For more information about volunteering, or donating, contact the New England Society for Abandoned Animals, PO Box 1041, Osterville, MA 02655, at www.nesaa.org or call (508) 771-7800 and ask for Deborah Doe or send an email to deb@nesaa.org .
