"Meet Constance Ledbelly, a spinsterish PHD Candidate and assistant professor specializing in Shakespeare. With her academic career at a stands-still and romantic life non-existant, she focuses on her life's work: deciphering a cryptic manuscript that she believes to be the source of 'Othello' and 'Romeo and Juliet.' This leads her into a fantastic journey into the two plays.
