" After living in Switzerland for ten years, 13-year old Marta and her mother return to Italy. While her mother works, Marta is left on her own, and turns to the local church for social contact. Marta begins preparation for her confirmation, confronting the hypocrisy of the church as she moves toward adulthood. "
