Director John Watters will hold open auditions for Deadwood Dick or The Game of Gold by Tim Taggert, March 11 and March 12 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Barnstable Comedy Club, 3171 Rte. 6A in Barnstable Village. Speaking roles available for seven men and seven women, as well as a handful of extras. Character descriptions may be viewed at www.barnstablecomedyclub.com Perusal scripts may be found at both the Sturgis and Hyannis Libraries. Production dates are scheduled for May 9-26. Ripped from the pages of the bloodthirsty dime novels popular at the end of the 1800s Deadwood Dick, or The Game of Gold is tongue-in-cheek rootin tootin Western melodrama set in Calamity Janes Man Trap Saloon in the Black of Hills of South Dakota. Black hats, white hats, dancing girls and thirsty minors keep the audience booing the bad guys and cheering the heroes, but best of all laughing their way from beginning to end in this infectiously fun play.
