    The Wayne Naus Jazz Ensemble is a new Cape Cod group of seasoned professionals playing new compositions and their take on standards from the Great American Song Book. Wayne Naus began his professional music career as a Navy musician, playing trumpet, and then touring and recording in the early 1970s with the Buddy Rich, Lionel Hampton and Maynard Ferguson big bands. In the late 1990s, Wayne toured with the great Cuban trumpet player Arturo Sandoval, including performances at the Newport Jazz Festival and Carnegie Hall, and over the years with such performers as Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra.ý During the mid 2000s he was frequently called on to perform the National Anthem for the Boston Red Sox and Bruins games as a trumpet soloist.ý After moving to Harwich, he founded and is the director of the Monomoy High School Jazz band.
