This event is part of the 100th Anniversary year, celebrating Scouting’s values-based programs provided to more than 2,000 young people each year on the Cape and Islands.

Boy Scouts of America was chartered by Congress on February 8, 1910 to “promote… the ability of boys to do things for themselves and others, to train them in Scoutcraft, and to teach them patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred virtues…”. Scouting’s methods have evolved to keep pace with changes in technology and society, but the core values on which it was founded are unchanged.
