Monthly Poets Corner Open Mic Reading with David Surette

Description:
Come early to sign up for the open mic. The featured reader performs afterwards. The mic is open to poets 14 and older. Free and open to the public. Bring your own refreshments. Hosted by Barry Hellman and Joe Gouveia on the last Thursday of each month, January-October. David R. Surettes new book of poetry, Easy to Keep, Hard to Keep In, was listed as Highly Recommended at the 8th Annual Massachusetts Book Awards. His first book of poetry is Young Gentlemen's School. Surettes poems have recently appeared in the anthologies French Connections: A Gathering of Franco-American Poets and Cadence of Hooves: A Celebration of Horses. He is a contributing editor at Salamander. He taught poetry at the 2008 Cape Cod Writers Conference and the 2009 New England Young Writers Conference at Bread Loaf. He also co-hosted Poetribe, a poetry series in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Come hear David read and share something of your own.
